Yes, it’s on it’s way!
BT Openreach engineers have descended on Fairfield today and started to install the cabling which will give us Ultra Fast Broadband in about a couple of months.
Currently, Fairfield has what’s known as FTTC – or fibre to the cabinet with the remaining journey to your home by copper wire.
But this is about to change to FFB – Full Fibre Broadband.
The change could see download speeds of up to 1 gigabyte and put Fairfield to the forefront in the Country.
Many residents have been calling for full fibre, as with fibre to the cabinet, speeds drop the further away you get from the cabinet.
