The Councillors and Clerk of Fairfield Parish Council are deeply saddened at the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with The Royal Family at this time.
The official announcement from Buckingham Palace can be seen on the Palace website
Councillor Nick Andrews, Chair of Fairfield Parish Council has said, “On behalf of Fairfield Parish Council and the people of Fairfield, we join the nation in expressing our sadness at the news that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died and send our deepest condolences to The Royal Family.
As the longest serving monarch in British history, Her Majesty The Queen devoted her life to our country and we thank her for the lifetime of service and devotion she has given us.
The Parish Council will be writing to His Majesty the King and Members of the Royal Family to express our most sincere condolences”.
As a mark of respect Fairfield Bowls Club is flying the Union Flag at half-mast.
For those who wish to leave floral tributes they can do so in Urban Park on the bank in front of the stage. We do kindly request that no plastic or polythene is left so that the flowers can be biodegradable.
A Book of Condolence is available for all residents to sign in the Community Hall and this will remain open until the day following her funeral. We also encourage residents to take a moment to sign the online Book of Condolence on the Palace website.
