FPC has again set up two special points for you to deposit your discarded Christmas trees. One is on the West Orchard at the far end of Hardy Way and close to the Fairfield Hall Waste Compound, the other on the green area at the Emily Place end of Bronte Avenue. Both sites are clearly signposted. These points will remain open until the week of January 20 when the trees will be shredded and used as compost around the village.
CBC will also collect your tree providing it is less than 6ft tall and the trunk is less than three inches in diameter. To take this option leave your tree with your bin on Tuesday, January 14.
Christmas trees take between 20 and 30 years to rot down, so please dispose of your tree by one of these methods and please do not deposit them on the shelter belt.
