It is with regret that we have to report that Cllr Phil Mitchinson has resigned for personal reasons from the council with immediate effect.
Phil was elected to the council at its outset and has worked tirelessly on behalf of FPC. He became chairman in May. He was the driving force behind the completion of both the Parish Plan and the Neighbourhood Plan. It should be noted, and Phil should be rightly proud, that FPC is the first local authority within CBC to submit the final Neighbourhood Plan for approval and inspection. Others are still working on theirs!
The council will be asked to consider a motion thanking him for his services at the January meeting.
Central Bedfordshire Council has issued the official notice of a vacancy on the council. If the vacancy is to go to an election then a notice signed by 10 electors must be presented to Brian Dunleavy, the deputy returning officer at CBC, by January 9. If this does not happen then the parish council will ask for nominations and co-opt someone to serve on the council until the next election.
