It is almost two years since Hotbed Ground Rents agreed to transfer areas of land to the Parish Council.
These areas included the two Orchards, the tennis court, the area at the rear of the Community Centre, and the area that stretches from Kingsley Avenue to Eliot Way and which is designated as the Gateway to Fairfield.
The stumbling block has been agreeing boundaries with the Fairfield Hall Management Company (FHMC). Also, during the two years, FHMC directors have changed their mind and now wish to retain and maintain the tennis court.
FPC cannot accept the boundaries suggested by FHMC for several reasons.
While the delay in transfer takes place some the areas remain in an overgrown and unsightly state as FHMC has failed to do any maintenance on them during the period. Legal fees also continue to be met and part of the agreement is that FPC pays the legal fees of both sides.
This situation cannot be allowed to continue. FPC chairman, Chris Bidwell, has written to the occupiers of the apartments in Fairfield Hall setting out our concerns and reasons for not agreeing to FHMC proposals. The letter and supplementary information can be downloaded from this link.
