Bloodhound System to be switched off
Please note that the bloodhound system is going to be switched off for part of the day on Tuesday February 28. This is to allow contractors working on the site upgrade to complete work in the vicinity of the bloodhound system which is aimed to control the odour.
Anglian Water have assured the parish council that if the wind direction is not favourable on the day then the job will be aborted and re-scheduled.
Update on the appeal against the Abatement notice issued by Central Bedfordshire Council
Lawyers from both sides have been in discussion on how the matter proceeds. This is a normal legal process. As a result of that meeting the two sides will meet again in late March to hear detailed proposals from Anglian Water on their proposals for a long-term solution including both works and timescales.
In the meantime, CBC have appointed an independent consultant to act for them as an expert advisor on Best Practical Means. This person will then be called as an expert witness when the matter comes to court. He will be visiting the site in early March to carry out an initial appraisal.
Anglian water has agreed to meet with the parish council to discuss the situation and the steps it is taking. A date for this meeting has yet to be set.
