Residents may feel that they have suffered enough with the traffic lights on Hitchin Road.
But on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, evening/nights the road is to be closed from 20.00 hrs to 6.00 am to allow re-surfacing works.
Entry to Fairfield will be from Letchworth and Arlesey only during these times. There will be no entrance from the A507.

Highways Matters
Central Bedfordshire Council have a 24/7 phone line to deal with emergency highways matters such as fallen trees blocking a road, traffic light failures etc. Please contact them on 0300 300 8049.
Doctors
The out of hours number is 111. They will direct you to an out-of-hours doctor if required.
There are Accident and Emergency Departments at Bedford General Hospital and Lister Hopital, Stevenage. There are also daytime (until 10PM) non-urgent walk-in centres at Bedford General Hospital and the QE2 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City.
