E-Scooters are illegal

July 29, 2022

E scooterWe have an increasing number of e-scooters being used in Fairfield.

We understand that buying an e-scooter can be tempting, especially as you can get them from many popular retailers.

However the current law is clear, you can only buy one, but can’t ride it on a UK public road, cycle lane or pavement. The only place e-scooters can be used is on private land with the land owners permission.

It is dangerous to ride on the path/paving/car parks around the Fairfield as people are entering and exiting the buildings/pathways and recreation spaces from various points at all times.

If your young person has an e-scooter please make sure they know the law and ride it responsibly.
