Annette Smith

You may have heard the sad news regarding the death of Fairfield Resident Annette Smith. We appreciate that this will be distressing news to everyone. As a parish we are doing all we can to assist the police with their ongoing investigations. The police have requested that anyone with information or footage that could assist the police with their investigations, please could they submit these on the Major Incident Portal.

An arrest has already been made and it’s reassuring to know that the police do not believe that there was anyone else involved.

We recognise that this is an unprecedented event that’s taken place in our close knit and sleepy community and ask for calm at this troubling time. It’s a reminder to us all, how important it is to be neighbourly and to watch out for one another.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Annette. For those who wish to pay their respects or leave floral tributes, they can do so in the West Wing Walled Garden. We do kindly request that no plastic or polythene is left so that the flowers can be biodegradable.

As a mark of respect Fairfield Bowls Club is flying their Flag at half-mast.

One minute of silence will be held before the next Parish Council meeting (9th May 2024).
